The Trip's Support for Our Sherpa "Family"

On the inn-to-inn hike, our crew does a terrific job for us.  Not only do they oversee the cooking, leading, explaining, and the task of keeping us comfortable, but they also manage the yak train that carries all our gear.  From the first day, they know all our names.  They teach us their songs, show us little-known sites of interest, and carry our days packs if we are weary.

There is a group tip which is paid to them, and that is taken care of as part of your trip package.

You should also budget $100, as your personal donation.  Part of this will be distributed among the crew according to Sherpa trekking custom, and part will go to Nepali organizations and charities that promote Sherpa welfare, health, and community development.

Frequently Asked Question

Q- On most tours, it’s traditional to tip the tour leaders at the end of a trip. Is that the case on the Nepal Adventure?

A- No. If you give a gratuity to the trip leaders, it will be donated in your name to The Nepal Reliance Organization, a non-profit organization created by Nepali women to promote long term sustainable development.
