The Healing Sites We’ll Visit

Healing Temples

Certain temples are known for specific transformative properties--   even when no ceremony is happening. For instance, one gompa we’ll visit has a “chapel” that’s well known for its capacity to bestow a sense of  well-being and grace. In that temple,  John  will lead some eyes-closed exercises, so each traveler gets to experience the beneficial effect. Travelers often say they feel energized, blessed, and “lighter”,  after our visit there.

Another temple has an altar dedicated to The Medicine Buddha, and  there  John will lead the group in the traditional way to request a healing.

Power Points

In Nepal, spiritual beneficence is not limited to a deity or a temple.   Just as Native Americans reverence the Spirit of the Corn, and the Spirit of the Rain, in Nepal, natural forces are understood to have not only power, but also consciousness.

Nepal is a land where the landscape is infused with spiritual qualities, and with a sense of providence at every turn. In the alpine part of your trip, some of the most interesting spiritual sites we’ll visit will be features in the land itself, such as sacred rivers.

Waterfalls are frequently the dwelling of deities, and  the area bounded by the range of the waterfalls’ mist is suffused with spiritual properties.
